Since 2017, USR Cares has helped more than 50 families, individuals and couples who requested our assistance when faced with a crisis.

We provide support for individuals and families who request assistance after experiencing a temporary crisis.  Generally this support is short-term and involves connecting residents with appropriate resources for longer term resolutions. This support comes in many meaningful financial and non-financial forms, such as; initial case assessment and care planning, food and meal deliveries, transportation to medical appointments, case management support,  caregiver support, relocation services,  home repairs, and minor house modifications to address physical needs.

Our Care and Crisis team assists residents experiencing a crisis or who are in need by providing and navigating immediate solutions. Some examples of this assistance are:

  • We may coordinate and cover the cost, where appropriate, of short term care management services and act as a liaison with hospital staff and social workers

  • We may stock the refrigerator and arrange for needed cleaning services before a resident returns from the hospital

  • We respond quickly to USR Police concerns about residents at risk

  • We work with community organizations to coordinate support for various USR residents yard and house-specific needs

  • We connect and, where appropriate, pay the cost of minor repairs and upgrades to address physical needs

  • Help coordinate and facilitate relocation and transitions to senior care facilities

  • Assist young families with needed services from clinical to social issues.

  • Help seniors navigate how to remain in their homes safely.
